Williamsburg Independent Schools is celebrating our students on September 9th! 🎉
Every day at school matters, and every student matters! We want to celebrate our Yellow Jackets for showing up, learning, growing, and being part of our school family.
On September 9th, Pre-K through 12th grade students will enjoy a special High Attendance Day celebration featuring grilled hamburgers and hotdogs for lunch, followed by ice cream for dessert! 🍔🌭🍦
Parents, thank you for helping make school attendance a priority. When your child is here, they have the opportunity to learn, connect with friends, participate in activities, and make memories that last a lifetime.

📚 K–11 Jacket Families: Over the next week, students will complete our Fall i-Ready Inform universal screener. Please encourage your child to take their time, try their best, and show what they know! Remind your student that some questions may cover skills they haven’t learned yet, and that’s okay. We have a whole year of learning and growth ahead! 🧡🖤

Williamsburg Board of Education Work Session

Date: September 1, 2026

Time: 3:30 PM

Location: Media Center (Please enter the building through the "Gym Entrance" of the school)

The September 1, 2026 Board Work Session is a special-called meeting of the Williamsburg Independent Board of Education.

The purpose of the work session is to provide a collaborative opportunity for Board members and district leaders to review and discuss updated district information, student learning data, current needs, and priorities for the 2026–2027 school year. This work will support the Board in developing clear, measurable goals that will guide its work and be monitored throughout the school year.

The meeting is open to the public for observation; however, the agenda does not include a public-comment or audience-participation period. The work session is intended to provide dedicated time for Board members and district leaders to engage in information sharing, data review, discussion, and goal development.

Saving Fred in Mrs. Crusenberry’s 2nd Grade!

Our second graders took on the challenge of saving Fred the worm, who was stuck in the middle of the ocean! They had to work together, communicate, problem-solve, and encourage one another to get Fred to safety. This fun community builder gave us a chance to practice our JACKET Expectations being with Joyful Thinkers, Accountable Teammates, Confident Communicators, Kind Citizens, Engaged Learners, and Trustworthy Leaders!

We had so much fun learning and working together, and we can thankfully say…Fred was saved!
