Ummm…remember our “Super Spreader” project?

Well, we're NOT studying viruses this week, but apparently Jennifer may have taken her role a little too seriously because SOMETHING has been going around CEA!

The last few weeks we've had students taking turns not feeling their best, and this week seems to be keeping the trend alive.

So here's your friendly CEA reminder: wash those hands, cover those coughs, don't share your drinks, and if you're feeling crummy—keep those germs to yourself!

Apparently that virus lesson wasn't just a school project…it was preparation for real life.

And Jennifer, we're officially retiring your Super Spreader title. You've done enough.

POV: Your instructor says, “Today we’re learning finger waves.”

Us: Do we HAVE to?
Jennifer: Yep.
Us: But WHYYYYY?
Jennifer: Because you need to know it. Now grab your comb.

Listen…we're not going to pretend every day of cosmetology school is everyone's favorite day.

From the sounds coming out of the classroom, finger wave day was NOT winning any popularity contests.

But here's the thing we're learning at CEA: You don't only learn the techniques you like. You learn the craft.

Some techniques challenge your patience. Some make you want to throw the comb across the room. And sometimes the lesson isn't just about getting the wave right—it's about slowing down, practicing, understanding technique and sticking with something until you get it.

We may have complained our way through this one…but we learned it.

And Jennifer? She wasn't letting us off the hook.

Being crafty at school…but there’s a method behind the madness!

Our CEA students are wrapping up their 3D Salon Builds, and we are LOVING watching their ideas come to life! But don't let the cute little salons fool you—the project isn't over yet.

Next comes the BUSINESS side.

Each student still has to complete their business plan and present their salon concept. Because dreaming up a beautiful salon is one thing…understanding what it takes to actually build, operate and grow one is another.

We're teaching our students to think beyond the chair. Someday that cosmetology license could lead to becoming a salon owner, entrepreneur and employer.

And THAT is exactly why we do projects like this.

SKIN DISORDERS: KNOW WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING AT!

A cosmetologist’s job isn’t to diagnose skin conditions—but it is our job to recognize when something doesn’t look right.

Why? Because you never know what might sit down in your chair.

Redness. Rashes. Open sores. Severe acne. Blisters. Irritation. Suspicious or changing spots. These are all things a cosmetologist may encounter during a client service.

At CEA, our students are learning how to:

~ Recognize abnormal skin conditions
~ Know when a service should NOT be performed
~ Communicate professionally with the client
~ Prevent cross-contamination
~ Properly disinfect their station and tools
~ Know when it’s time to recommend the client see a healthcare professional

Great cosmetology is about more than creating beautiful hair, skin, and nails. It’s about knowledge, safety, sanitation, and protecting the person sitting in your chair.

That’s the difference between simply learning a service and learning to become a professional.

IT’S KIT DAY AT CEA!

Wednesday was a pretty exciting day for our new student, Lexie—KIT DAY!

There’s just something about opening that kit for the first time. Unpacking, unboxing, checking out all the tools and, of course, getting to play with all the new things. It’s basically Christmas morning for a cosmetology student!

But that kit represents so much more than new tools. It represents the beginning of learning new skills, building confidence, and working toward a new career.

We’re excited to watch Lexie grow and learn at CEA. We know that if she shows up, applies herself, and keeps putting in the work, there’s no limit to what she can achieve.

Enjoy the journey, Lexie. This is just the beginning!

STUDENT LIFE AT CEA: NEVER A DULL MOMENT!

It’s been a BUSY week around CEA—and that’s exactly how we like it!

We welcomed two new students into the CEA family, our students have been performing services on the public, working on their salon projects, learning new skills, practicing techniques…and handling all the other little things that somehow find their way into a day at cosmetology school.

One minute you’re in the classroom, the next you’re working with a client, and five minutes later you’re probably looking for something you just had in your hand.

But that’s student life at CEA. Learn. Practice. Work. Laugh. Repeat.

Every busy day is another day closer to becoming the professional they’re working so hard to be.

Around here, there’s truly never a dull moment—and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
