Family Forest Therapy I bring this passion and my years of experience in a Montessori classroom to reconnect children and families to the outdoors.

As an AMI Montessori educator with over 25 years of teaching in both for-profit and nonprofit settings and a certified Forest Therapy Guide, my love for nature is at the core of my work. I aim to empower children and their families to learn and form deep connections with the natural world and to explore nature in joyful ways.

On a beautiful fall day at Hatcher Garden in South Carolina, I led a Forest Therapy walk with lower elementary students. The walk provided an excellent opportunity for the students to connect with nature through various engaging activities designed to enhance their appreciation for the natural environment. This hands-on experience allowed the children to explore the outdoor surroundings, fostering a deeper understanding of nature’s wonders.

Throughout my Forest Therapy Guide training, I had the privilege of learning from both children and adults who joined me on my practicum walks. Witnessing their discoveries and seeing how the activities I guided fostered a deeper connection with nature was incredibly rewarding. These shared experiences, where participants engaged with the environment in meaningful ways, were the highlight of my journey.

What truly empowers me is knowing that the practice of Forest Therapy is grounded in evidence-based theory and backed by a reputable organization like INFTA. This reassures me that the work I do has a positive impact on health and well-being, which inspires me to give my very best in every session.

I am proud to have earned my certification as an INFTA Forest Therapy Guide and feel confident stepping into this role, knowing I can help others connect with nature in a way that is both healing and transformative. I am excited for what lies ahead and eager to continue growing on this path.
