KMO will be CLOSED tomorrow, Monday March 16 alongside WJCC schools. Please stay safe, friends!
**WJCC Schools CLOSED Monday, March 16, 2026; 12-Month Staff To Report**
The National Weather Service predicts "multiple rounds of storms are possible [tomorrow] with potential for widespread damaging winds, strong tornadoes and large hail. Precise timing and storm mode remain a bit uncertain, but the threat for significant severe weather continues to increase.” The NWS designates our risk for a severe storm as a 4 on a 5-point scale, meaning “long-lived, widespread and intense.”
While precise timing remains dependent on how fast the storm system moves across the country, the anticipated impact is “late morning into Monday evening.” Hurricane-force wind gusts are predicted, conditions which would be unsafe for school bus operation.
Because of the anticipated length of the storm, coupled with the probable effects (power outages, damaging winds and debris, and unsafe conditions for school bus operation), any other schedule adjustment for the day (ex. early release) would not avoid adverse weather conditions.
As such, all WJCC schools and offices will be CLOSED tomorrow, Monday, March 16, 2026. Students and teachers will not engage in a remote learning day and food service will not be provided. All school and community events and activities on Monday, March 16, are cancelled.
12-Month staff should report to their assigned work location at their regularly scheduled time and will be dismissed on a shortened schedule, as directed by their supervisor.
