September 2nd - returning members are asked to stay after school to set framework plans for the year

September 9 - returning members in ite new members to our after school meeting

(As of yesterday - busses were said to start running on Sept 1 - our schedule is dependent upon if the busses run - if the busses do not run we do not meet… the onkybexception is if we are planning for a big event)

Students - we encourage you to take advantage of the many opportunities through FCCLA - many students report the bonding, friendships and networking they benefitted from

Alumni - please encourage students to take advantage of all FCCLA has to offer

Parents - FCCLA is a family focused organization that in our belief helps your child become a responsible and productive adult

To get your mind working - decisions to be made (we need to set our goals for the year- select officers, including regional, a theme , what our service focus will be , competitions , travel - what if we cant travel …)

Schedule changes are upon you for the 2021-2022 school year.

For a student to be a member of FCCLA they MUST have that school year or a previous school year had a class with Ms. Veronica Carmical. If you are a student who may have had an FCS (not necessarily culinary related) class at another school you may also be eligible SO if you want tobe a member make sure you either had a class or will have this school year. These are national rules.

Like everyone else we have no idea how this school year will play out BUT for the next three years the Rae of Sunshine foundation wil be our partner for our community service projects at the state level in FCCLA. We will focus on bringing positivity to others and dtriving to reduce the issues and stigma attached to mental health conditions. No one do do everything but everyone can do something.

On a belated news note....While most members cant appreciate this statement but many of our followers can understand the immense accomplishment and reason for excitement - We are proud to share that for this year Kentucky FCCLA has TWO, yes TWO national officers!!

Hannah Jones is the National Vice President.

Members hard at work - Thanksgiving is a real marathon for us! Fall baking fundraiser - prepping for the Community Thanksgiving meal - working our Community meal - Busy Busy - Busy! Leaders with this great group of freshmen working Friday evening...

Those looking for those fall baked goods ... FCCLA is taking orders through Thursday for pumpkin pie $8 (deep dish) fudge pie($6), and the following rolls —- pumpkin, lemon with raspberry filling, red velvet and chocolate swiss roll —- all rolls are $12

You can arrange pick up starting Monday November 25th. Pick up times are Monday from 12 to 4:30; Tuesday 8 to 4:30 OR 9 to 1 pm on Wednesday.

Big plug out for our 5th Annual Thanksgiving Community Meal on Wednesday, November 27 from 11 to like 1 (havent gotten exact times!)

More on that later... orders have to be placed by 4 on Thursday to give us time to fill them.

Fall baked good fundraiser starting - pumpkin pie (regular or sugar free), old fashioned fudge pie and these various rolls - pumpkin, red velvet, chocolate (like a swiss cake roll), lemon and many more - can roll for desserts or for nibbling (longer skinnier roll) - help you with the cravings if you have the will power to make smaller portions!

$15 Mum Fundraiser

Brighten the yard, decorate your home or get a nice gift!

Order and money due by Monday, October 7th

Pick up mums Thursday, October 10 at the high school soccer field parking lot (across from the Intermediate) from 2:30 to 5:30.

This fundraiser not only supports our kids, gives you a mum for a very good value but also supports our local businesses as our mums come from Sally Gap Farm.

Friday we will host our open club day meeting 3rd period, 1st session in the cafeteria. All eligible students (have had an FCS class or will have by the end of the school year) are welcome to attend.
