This was a very difficult decision I had to make. Ideally I wouldn’t have had to make it so soon. I guess all things do come to an end?! Shoutout to WHS faculty and students for giving me the opportunity to find my passion in education!

I’m not here to decide if educators are being paid fairly. That’s a topic for another day. The facts are that in 2019-2020 prior to virtual teaching, educators spent on average $745 out of their own pockets on educational items to enhance their students learning just in that academic year alone! Teachers aren’t paid nearly what they are worth, and yet are expected to go above and beyond the call of duty and foot the bills to cover items that would further improve student outcomes....

Creating Substitute Hero was relatively easy. Just blog, or write about the daily struggles of a substitute teacher. I guess, writing my feelings down comes naturally to me. Any WHS student in need of community service hours. Beginning June 21st Substitute Hero will be in need of 1 person to help oversee business operations at the trail town market. Hours would be from 8 am - ?? Each Saturday (weather permitting) business operations would include setup/tear down, Operating POS systems and cash handling. General positive demeanor is necessary. Willing to work hard is negotiable. Use of social media to encourage potential donors and drive sales is imperative.

I can’t pay you, however if I allow you to walk away with a free t-shirt, I don’t think anyone will say anything 😉
