San Fu Tian (三伏天) refers to the three hottest 10-to-20-day stretches of the summer, spanning mid-July to late August. Key phases include Chu Fu (First Fu), Zhong Fu (Middle Fu), and Mo Fu (Last Fu).

Right now we are in Zhong Fu (中伏): July 25 to August 13, 2026 (20 days). We got lucky to experience many warming therapies during this time on our 2026 China trip.

There is a saying “Heal Winter Disease with Summer Treatment (冬病夏治): Using peak seasonal Yang energy to treat chronic cold- or damp-rooted conditions like asthma, arthritis, stiffness, stagnation and allergies.

It’s hard to believe the Internal Alchemy course in China has finished and students are on their return journey home. The lessons will continue to permeate and steep as we re-enter societal life. I trust that the energy we gained from the ancestral mountains, like lifetimes unfolded in 20 days, will stay guarded and long lasting. Even if just a small pearl remains, it will provide clarity and efficacy for further sharing of the Dao across the seas. 一路顺风。慈悲。

Recap of the Wudang White Horse, Seven Star Sword Immersion in 2026 at Pacifica in Southern Oregon.

This 5 day immersion camp included beginners wishing to learn the sword form and begin their sword practice. It was also recommended to returning sword students for continued refinement of form and function.

There were 2 levels taught simultaneously, the Yang Sheng group and the Gong Fu group. The Yang Sheng group was guided in the Life Nourishing approach to sword practice. Movements were slower and upright, with a focus on breathing, health preservation, and spirit. The Gong Fu group was expected to push their physical limits for growth, go deeper into low stances, engage in running warm ups, and generally be challenged to perform faster and under pressure.

Included for both levels at the respective pace and application, with modifications for longevity: kung fu basics, cardio training, strength training, flexibility, sword basics and bagua footwork, light partner drills, seven star sword form, morning qi gong and evening meditation.
