Cadets participated in a Drone Camp at Willard High School today. Drone Leadership worked with the cadets on the fun and engaging events that the team will prepare for during the first competition of the school year. They also talked about the Drone Aviation Course and how they make learning fun in the classroom. The cadets also participated in Drone Limbo! They finished the day by getting acquainted with the Aerial Drone Competition by flying the CoDrone EDU to challenge themselves. We’re seeing some talent rise to the occasion! It’s Great to be a Tiger!

Your Willard NJROTC Drone Team is back at it with practice in preparation for the upcoming school year. Had a few new cadets testing their airworthiness with a little racetrack flying. Not as easy as it looks! Got a few more practices to hold before the school year starts. Keep up the great work, cadets! It’s Great to be a Tiger!

Hello, Willard NJROTC Community! Please see the article written by our PAO that highlights what New Cadet Orientation was all about last week! It's Great to be a Tiger!

New Cadet Orientation
c/SCPO Cloe Sharon

This past week, our unit completed a successful New Cadet Orientation, providing incoming cadets with an exciting introduction to the program while preparing them for the upcoming school year. Throughout the week, returning cadets stepped up as teachers and leaders, helping new cadets develop confidence, discipline, and teamwork.

Cadets participated in a variety of activities that opened doors to the many opportunities available within our unit. During drill, returning cadets taught the details of military drill and basic commands. Our focus included attention to detail, respect, and military bearing while giving new cadets hands-on experience. The orientation also included several team building exercises that taught communication and leadership to work through challenges together which allowed new cadets to build relationships with one another while learning the importance of trust and cooperation within our team.

Another highlight of the week was an introduction to our marksmanship program. Cadets received safety lessons, learned the details of marksmanship, and observed demonstrations that highlighted the discipline, responsibility, and precision required for marksmanship. This experience gave many incoming cadets an additional look at one of our competitive teams within our unit. By the end of orientation, new cadets had gained knowledge of the values and expectations of our unit while becoming more comfortable with their fellow cadets and leadership. The week was a great success thanks to the dedication of our returning cadets who volunteered their time to make sure every new member felt welcomed and prepared. We look forward to seeing this new class grow into confident leaders and valuable members of our battalion during the coming school year.
