Turner Intermediate students participated in a PBIS Passport Rotation activity today!

Students traveled to five different stations throughout the school: cafeteria, hallways, restrooms, recess/playground, and bus to learn what our PBIS expectations look like in each setting. At each station, students had the opportunity to see, practice, and discuss the expectations before receiving a stamp on their PBIS passport.

The goal was to help students understand what ROARS (Respectful, Ownership, Attitude, Responsible, Safe) looks like throughout Turner. We're proud of our students for already putting Turner’s PBIS ROARS into practice!

Save the date for the Kelly Primary and Turner Intermediate Open House on Thursday, September 24, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.

This year, principals will hold presentations at 5:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. in each school’s gym, while teachers will host presentations at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in their classrooms. Principals and teachers will offer two presentation times so families with students at both schools have the opportunity to attend at both schools.

We hope to see you there and can’t wait to welcome you into our schools!

Check out our winners from the ROARS Fun Friday Raffle!

Turner Intermediate had so much fun celebrating our Turner Tigers who are showing their ROARS behavior! Students have the opportunity to turn in their Tiger Bucks for a chance to win a prize from our ROARS prize display. Our ROARS values are:

Today was our first Fun Friday raffle of the year, and we are so proud of our students for demonstrating these important expectations each day! We look forward to celebrating our Tigers with a ROARS raffle every Friday, so keep up the good work!

As a reminder, all students and staff will be off on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. This federal holiday recognizes the contributions and achievements of American workers and the important role they play in the strength and prosperity of our country.

We hope you enjoy the long weekend and take some time to rest and recharge! All students and staff will return to school on Tuesday, September 8.

The Wilkinsburg School District and Neighborhood Learning Alliance are teaming up to offer a FREE after school program for students in grades K-5 during the 2026-2027 school year! The Litter Warriors’ After School Program provides students with a safe, supportive environment where they can learn, play, build new skills, and connect with their peers.

The program for students in grades K-2 will take place at Kelly Primary beginning September 22, while the program for students in grades 3-5 will take place at Turner Intermediate beginning September 8. Both programs run Monday through Thursday from dismissal until 6:15 p.m.

Families must complete the two-step registration process to be considered for the program. Space is limited, so families are encouraged to register today!

Wellness Wednesday is off to a GREAT start at Turner Intermediate!

This past Wednesday was our first Wellness Wednesday of the year, and our students jumped right in! Students participated in a fun movement video during Homeroom to get up, get moving, and start their day with positive energy.

Students are encouraged to wear their athletic gear each Wednesday and participate alongside their classmates. It’s all about moving, having fun, building relationships, and taking care of ourselves—one day at a time!
