WCC Workforce Development and Community Education Continuing Education serves individuals (Ages 18+), organizations, businesses and industries with pr These programs are available to adults 18 years or older.

Ongoing changes in technology, and career and job requirements, create the need for life-long learning for individuals in both occupational and vocational areas. The Continuing Education Division is responsible for responding to these needs by providing services to individuals, organizations, businesses, and industries within Alleghany, Ashe and Wilkes counties. Tailored to the needs of our servic

e area, continuing education programs range from courses in basic skills to advanced courses in various technical fields. In addition, a range of vocational programs are offered that meet the needs and interests of the citizens of the region. These are non-curriculum classes that provide continuing education units and are made available whenever there are a sufficient number of students interested in a specific subject area. Adults may also attend continuing education courses to improve vocational and practical skills.

FF Fireground Ops 9 (FIP-3049)
Class will meet on the dates and times of 9/4 (1800-2200), 9/5 & 9/6 (0800-1700), 9/11 (1800-2200), 9/12 & 9/13 (0800-1700) Test on 9/13 at 1730.

Fire Chief 101-2025 Edition (FRC-1900) The date of this class changed from 9/19 to the date of 9/12.
Class will meet on 9/12 from 0800-1700.

Fire Instructor I (FIP-3811)
Class will meet on the dates and times of 9/26, 9/27, 10/3 (0800-1700), 10/4 (0800-1400) Test on 10/4 at 1430.

TR Passenger Vehicle Rescue Series (FRC-1207)
Class will meet on the dates and time of 9/25 (1800-2200), 9/26, 9/27 (0800-1700), 10/16 (1800-2200), 10/17, 10/18 (0800-1700) Test on 10/18 at 1730.
