🎃👻 Get ready for Wilkes County’s BOO BASH! 👻🎃

Join us on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM for our Trick-or-Treat Trail!

Bring the family, dress up in your favorite Halloween costumes, and follow the Trick-or-Treat Trail to visit all 5 stops! Participating locations include the Health Department, EMS, Wilkes Government Office, Ag Center & Animal Shelter, and Sheriff’s Office. There will be plenty of Halloween fun along the way!

📍 Location: 126 Executive Drive, Wilkesboro, NC 28697

Guests can drive through or stop and participate along the way, so bring your kids and get ready for a spooktacular evening!

There’s nothing quite like the moment a student realizes that soil is so much more than just “dirt”!

Inside the Mobile Soils Classroom, we get a front-row seat to pure wonder. Whether it's watching eyes light up as a microscopic world comes into focus, seeing them realize that peanuts and many foods grow underground, or hearing that collective "Whoa!" when they learn how soil filters the water we drink—those lightbulb moments are what it’s all about.

Inspiring the next generation of land stewards starts with sparking curiosity, and we are so grateful for every smile, question, and discovering moment on the trail!

Come see us at the Touch a Truck - Wilkes County Event today from 10 AM–2 PM at the Wilkes Fairgrounds / North Wilkesboro Rotary Park!

We’ll have the Mobile Soils Classroom on site, so stop by, say hello, and learn a little more about what we do to protect and conserve our soil and water resources! 🌎💧

Yesterday (Sept 17th), we hosted our 7th Annual High School Environmental Field Day at the Edwin H. McGee Center—and it was officially our LARGEST ONE YET!

We had the privilege of welcoming 294 students from 9 local high schools. Watching so many young people immerse themselves in conservation, connect with mentors, and get true "real-world" experience reminded us why this work matters so much.
