Our camp was happy to welcome Coach Jonathan Bilbow "JB" and his all-star assistants, his daughter Elizabeth and our alumni Addyson! They led a basketball training session for our campers! Coach JB is a veteran, a triathlete, and an overall great role model for our campers. Before leading drills and games, he spoke to our campers about the importance of teamwork, believing in yourself, and leadership. Coach JB has several years of experience coaching, has served as athletic director, and now coaches for the girls basketball team at Holy Redeemer and also at Lackawanna College. Today we were excited to welcome Coach Kyle Hammer from the Junior Penguins to Wilkes-Barre Academy Summer Camp for an action-packed hockey clinic!

Our campers learned the fundamentals of hockey, including the basic rules, the parts of a hockey stick, how to control the puck, and the importance of a good "follow-through." They practiced passing, stickhandling, and shooting before putting their new skills to the test in fun, competitive small-sided games.

Thank you, Kyle, for sharing your expertise with our campers. We had a fantastic time and look forward to seeing you again soon at the Dek Rink!🥅🏒🐧
