Lafayette JROTC We are the Missouri 81st, AFJROTC Unit at Lafayette High School

Need volunteers? Reach out! AFJROTC also provides cadets with many optional clubs and teams.

The Missouri 81st Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) is a high school class that teaches valuable life skills and lessons, while preparing students for life after high school. Cadets go on many optional field trips, (including a few overnight trips) to expand their learning environment. For example: Academic Challenge Team, CyberPatriot Team, Drill Teams, Color Guard Teams,

Awareness Presentation Team, Kitty Hawk, Marksmanship Team, Paintball Team, Dodge Ball Team. and a few others. 2 days a week cadets learn about aerospace science. This includes learning about space, planes, aerodynamics, and we also spend a lot of time talking about current events and controversial topics. Another 2 days a week cadets learn different life skills. This includes topics like study skills, conducting and being in job interviews, time management, leadership skills, su***de prevention & awareness, resume writing, and many more. Finally, every Friday is "Fitness Friday". Cadets spend the class period either playing athletic games like volleyball, dodge ball, and kickball, or playing academic games and learning about a certain subject like alcohol & drug abuse.

Last weekend, our Cadets had the incredible opportunity to volunteer at the Blue Angels merchandise tents during the Spirit of St. Louis Air Show!

This unique fundraising event allowed our Cadets to raise money that helps support our extracurricular activities, competitions, leadership opportunities, and the everyday needs that keep our unit operating at its best.

A huge thank you to all of the Cadets, parents, and volunteers who dedicated their time and effort to make this event a success. Your support directly benefits our program and helps create opportunities for every Cadet in our unit.

We encourage everyone to continue supporting our future fundraising events and help us grow stronger together.

As seniors, we never really realize when our time is coming to an end. One day it feels like we still have forever, and the next we’re looking back at all the memories that somehow became some of the most important moments of our lives. The early mornings, long practices, competitions, bus rides, inside jokes, stressful days, and the people who made all of it worth it.

These years were never just about the uniforms, ranks, or events. They were about the friendships we built, the lessons we learned, and the family we found along the way. Every senior here has left their mark on MO81 in their own way, and this program would not be the same without them.

To our seniors: thank you for the leadership, memories, laughs, and impact you’ve left behind. No matter where life takes you next, a part of you will always stay here with this corps.
