Sometimes the weight of the world today can feel unbearable. There have been several tragic events affecting people all over, but for the third year in a row, I received a phone call that one of my cheerleaders lost a parent. In a town as small as Wilburton, those losses are felt so deeply by our community.
It has broken my heart every single time and I can’t imagine how their families have felt. That being said, death for a Christian is really life anew. As hard as it is for those of us left here on earth, we know that there are no tears in heaven.
With the blessing of Kayla Ketcher and Kodi, Little Digger Cheer will be continuing our tradition of Dad’s cheer day. This year it will be in honor and celebration of Bobby Ketcher, a great father and beloved member of our community.
I am attaching a link to order shirts for the game we will perform at. Over half of the proceeds of your t-shirt purchase will go to Kodi in honor of her dad. We would love for you to wear your shirt to the game and come support her and all our cheerleaders and dads during the middle school home football game on October 20th, 2025 at 6:00 pm.
I am not a Wilburton native, but I think my favorite part of this town is how everyone really rallies together around people in need of comfort and support. Please feel free to share the link. Let’s do what we always do and show this family how much we care. 💜
Big thanks to Caleb Woten and Nikki Kalin at fifth quarter for your help on this t-shirt design. I think it’s perfect. 🦌🏹
