Hello, Families and Supporters -

We are getting excited to welcome you all back soon! I'm writing to highlight a few things as we begin the year (tomorrow!):

- Attached is the arrival/dismissal information, including a reminder to bring your ID for the car line! If you are sending a walker or biker to school, please ensure they do not arrive early! We want to make sure that the crossing guard is in place to keep everyone safe.

- If you are NOT planning to take the bus, please send in a note to tell us how you are getting home for the year.

- Recess: At the beginning of every year, we start recess by class in "recess zones." The purpose of this to ensure that all students know the expectations of a particular area of recess (as our recess area is quite large), as well as to increase connections between students in their new classes. Students will rotate in each zone for a week. After a month, students are invited to play in any zone, with any other student who shares their recess time (from any class).

- For anyone who is still awaiting information about their bus assignment, please call the bus company directly at 413-596-9560.

- We are seeking library volunteers in weekly or bi-weekly shifts of 45 minutes to an hour. Interested? Email our new library para, Ms. Dean, at [email protected].

This is great news! The construction on our new fence started today! Thank you to all the parents and community members who advocated for this. We are so excited!

Despite the rain, we had such a good time, welcoming students and families to the new school year last night at our popsicle event. We were happy to see so many faces. Here’s to a great year ahead!

Dear Families and Supporters -

I can hardly believe that it is August already! Our team is already already hard at work, ready to welcome your students back to the building (most of our floors already have the new school year shine!). I'm writing today with a few updates as the year approaches:

- Please see the attached flier and hold the date of August 20th for our Welcome Back popsicle party!

- While we will have tours on August 20th, if you have a student who needs a little special care and/or is anxious about the start of the year and want a separate tour with me, please just let me know by emailing me at [email protected] or calling the school at 413-596-9311 to set one up. We want all students feeling confident about the start of the year!

- Teacher assignments will be posted to the portal on August 17th.

Hello Families and Supporters -

We have been awarded monies from the Town of Wilbraham, PTO and UltiPlay Parks to build a new playground! This is great news! The new playscape is likely to be installed in late September or early October. The goals are for the equipment to be safe, fun for students/the community to use and be as inclusive as possible.

There will be more info forthcoming about ways YOU can participate. For now, I'm sending a survey in an attempt to get community input on the types of equipment students would likely use.

We did observe the current playground in use and talked with many students before the end of the year. However, as we begin to make final decisions, we wanted to hear from you! Please either fill this out based on your parental opinion OR complete it with your child.

If you are new to Soule Rd, I will be sending more information about the coming year in mid-August. I'm looking forward to meeting you and your student soon!

Wow oh wow! Tonight‘s presentation of Annie was truly fantastic. Ms Canedi is a magician, and our kids were fantastic actors! Can’t wait for tomorrow’s showing!
