Get ready Mississippi educators! 2014 marks the Second Annual Making Connections Conference. The Making Connections Conference is a joint venture between the Gulf Coast Education Initiative Consortium (GCEIC), the Southern-Regional Educational Service Agency (S-RESA), and the University of Southern Mississippi, College of Education and Psychology (USM). The MCC committee is committed to making each year's Making Connections Conference bigger and better than the year prior, so this year's committee is more than doubling the seating capacity and anticipating over 2000 educators will converge this June on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for the largest gathering of educators in the state. The Making Connections Conference features two and one half days of instructional and motivational breakout sessions with over 100 courses in which to choose. Major course strands include; Common Core State Standards (CCSS), Best Practices/Effective Teaching, Meeting Learner Needs (SPED), Updates from the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE), Vendor Product Demonstration, STEM and Technology Training. This year's Making Connections Conference Exhibit Hall will host a variety of activities, along with a multitude of vendor and sponsor booths displaying and selling products and services. Door prizes provided by our sponsors and vendors will also be awarded to participants in the Exhibit Hall throughout the conference.

We've extended Early Bird Registration for the 2014 Making Connections Conference to May 15th, 2014 at Midnight, since so many educators throughout the state did not receive their notice about the conference in enough time to take advantage of the reduced registration fee. Spread the word!!!

Great News!!!
We've extended the Early Bird Registration Fee until May 15th! The MCC Committee recently learned many educators in the state did not receive their 2014 Making Connections Conference Early Bird Registration notice in time to take advantage of the Early Bird registation fee, so the MCC Committee has elected to extend the Early Bird Registration for 15 more days. You now have until midnight on May 15th, 2014 to register at the discounted registration fee of $159.00. Remember also that if your district or school requires a Purchase Order (PO) number, go ahead and complete your registration without one if you do not have it yet. You may return later to update your registration with your PO number after you have obtained it.
