This summer, Collier Middle School Extended School Year students are keeping busy in the most fun ways!

🎨 🌳 Students gathered for "Painting at the Park" to enjoy nature and explore their imaginations through artistic expression. Afterwards, they enjoyed an amazing picnic prepared by our wonderful kitchen staff.

🧁 🧑‍🍳 On "No Bake Tuesday", students turned into chefs and made delicious Oreo Truffles to enjoy together! No Bake Tuesdays have become a bonding experience for students, an outlet for frustrations, and an environment to entertain their taste buds!

Collier Youth Services is proud to recognize Collier High School Class of 2026's Dominic Cerreto for winning “Outstanding Featured Performance in a Male-Identified Role - Comedy” at the 2026 Basie Awards for his role in “This Murder Was Staged.” This prestigious award is the result of Dominic's hard work and dedication to the arts. Since 2023, Collier has been nominated for 11 Basie awards, winning 6 across multiple categories.

Emily Niemeyer, Theater Program Director at Collier High School, said, “Dom brings light into the room wherever he goes. He radiates positivity, and his energetic spirit helps give life to any environment. He is not only a talented performer but also a wonderful human being.”

Collier High School's Service Learners involved the entire school in their latest project for LIV like a Unicorn, which funds pediatric cancer research and delivers care packages to sick children. They set up a table in the cafeteria and asked students to make cards for children in oncology units. It was amazing to see the enthusiasm and participation from the whole school population in making these cards. Then, they collected donations and purchased items to make care packages for the kids in the hospitals, which were delivered to LIV Like a Unicorn 💙

This year, Collier Schools earned third place in the Champions of Sustainability Contest hosted by New Jersey Resources. The award helped bring our "Courtyard Beautification and Outdoor Learning Initiative" to life by transforming an underutilized outdoor space at Collier Middle School into a welcoming space for students and staff.
What was once a plain and overlooked courtyard is now a vibrant space featuring a student-designed mural. The new courtyard will serve as both a learning space and a creative hub for students and staff.
Thank you to New Jersey Resources for investing in our project to create opportunities for sustainability in our schools.
