Students are invited to wear their costumes to school for our Costume Parade on October 23 at 8:15 a.m.!

Please send a change of clothes with your student, as costumes may not be worn throughout the school day.

Weather permitting, the parade will take place outdoors along the sidewalk. We hope you can join us to watch our kids!

Invitamos a los estudiantes a usar su disfraz para participar en el Desfile de Disfraces el 23 de octubre a las 8:15 am.

Por favor envíe un cambio de ropa con su estudiante ya que no les permitirá usar su disfraz todo el día.

Si el clima lo permite, el desfile será afuera por lo largo de la acera/baqueta. Esperamos que pueda venir a ver a nuestros niños.

Believe it or not, the first quarter of the school year is already coming to an end! As a reminder, there will be no school on Friday, October 9, as teachers have a work day to wrap up the quarter. Enjoy the long weekend!

It has become a yearly tradition, and we are excited to once again have a bus taking Oaklawn students to the Derby Homecoming Parade!
Student Bus Information
Students must sign up in advance in one of three ways:
-Return the form going home this week
-Scan the QR code provided in this flier OR
-Go to Parentsquare and sign up under Forms/Permissions
Oaklawn teachers will ride the bus with students.
The bus will leave Oaklawn at 5:15 p.m. sharp.
The parade begins at 6:00 p.m. on October 8.
The bus will return to Oaklawn at approximately 7:15 p.m., after the parade.
Parents & Families
Parents may not ride the school bus. However, we would love for families to join us along the parade route!
If you would like to walk with the Oaklawn group, please meet us at Louisa and Westview before 6:00 p.m.
You are also welcome to find a spot along the route, watch the parade, and cheer on our Oaklawn students!
We are still collecting items to help decorate our Homecoming float. If you have vines, green garland, or other jungle-themed decorations that we could borrow, please let us know!
We can't wait to see our Oaklawn Cheetahs at the parade!
