What a fantastic weekend at the KASTA Summer Conference!

A big congratulations to Jillian Campa and Bailey Jensen for representing the Wichita State Viola Studio. We are so proud of the way they represented our program!

Our string faculty was also well represented. Dr. Laycock presented an outstanding conducting masterclass for string educators, and Dr. Balboa had the privilege of conducting the Middle School Honors Orchestra.

Thank you to KASTA for a wonderful conference filled with learning, collaboration, and inspiring music making. We are already looking forward to next year!

Join the viola studio tomorrow for their studio recital!

The Fairmount String Trio, consisting of Dr. Timothy Jones, Dr. Ruben Balboa, and Dr. Leonid Shukaev, with guest Daniel Carrasco, gave a sneak preview at this week’s convocation of two movements from String Quartet No. 12 in F major, Op. 96 “American” by Antonín Dvořák.
