Happy Day Academy is hiring for a full-time child care position and we have much lower child to teacher ratios than most centers.

Ideal candidates are energetic, nurturing, interact well with children, flexible, dependable, and display a positive disposition. We have a fun, family atmosphere and we are looking for teachers our children will love.

Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

Assisting with developmental skills
Ensuring a safe and educational environment
Assisting staff with daily operation of facility
Serving meals and snacks
Curriculum implementation
Light cleaning
Monitoring children and enforcing safety and respect for others
Helping promote a positive relationships with parents and families
General Requirements

High school diploma or GED
18 years of age
Ability to pass a background check
Health assessment
Negative TB test

First cooking class success. Strawberry pops were a hit and hearing them pronounce the word “ingredients” was the sweetest.

Our preschool class had a wonderful day at the zoo. We will have openings for school age children this fall with transportation before and after school.

Now offering before and after school care for children kindergarten through 4th grade with transportation to and from four Maize elementary schools.

School Age | Happy Day Academy Latchkey can be a big place for some children, especially those new to the public school environment. We offer a small setting for school age children to relax, eat breakfast or an afternoon snack and ride with their friends on our little school bus to school.

Aw, springtime... when parents start wondering if their preschoolers will be ready for kindergarten next year! I just saw another kindergarten readiness "checklist," and it annoyed me so much that I decided to make my own list! Unlike some lists that you might see this spring, you will notice that this list is not stuffed with academic standards. *This* list has things that actual kindergarten teachers hope kids are ready to do. It's based on my own experiences with groups of young children and dozens of kindergarten teachers I've talked with. It turns out that your 5yo does NOT need to know the entire alphabet, each letter's sounds, the 50 states, cardinal directions, or a dozen other things I've seen! Most kindergarten teachers are thrilled if your kid can take care of himself in the bathroom and at lunchtime... and bonus points if they can behave in a group and recognize a few letters! Take a deep breath, take heart, and enjoy playing with your kids this summer.
