As therapist-authors who live with ADHD, we don't just teach these toolsโ€”we rely on them daily.

When executive dysfunction makes starting a task feel like climbing a mountain, we use Wise Mind to find the middle ground between emotional overwhelm and rigid logic.

ADHD and Radical Acceptance

ADHD adults often struggle to accept reality and to participate in it as it is. You likely know the battle against reality as you struggle to reconcile your ADHD challenges with internalized invalidation
and the rampant dismissiveness of ADHD as a 'legitimate' mental health issue. Perhaps you, as many ADHD adults do, question whether or not ADHD is genuinely a neurobiological developmental delay that accounts for many of the daily struggles with organization (not knowing where your keys are), effective timing, and remembering to fulfill promises made (attending a childโ€™s school play or event), to name a few. Isnโ€™t your forgetfulness just normal forgetfulness, after all?

We're Scott and Mariah Spradlin. This is a photo from a vacation a couple of years ago. We wish you all a fabulous weekend, and thank you for supporting our new page, and our workbook, The DBT Skills Workbook for Adult ADHD ( https://a.co/d/0hNzFJiY ), available October 1st, from New Harbinger Publications .

We're both DBT intensively trained therapists who happen to be ADHD adults ourselves. Our motivations for writing the workbook range from our firsthand struggles with managing our Executive Functions to clinical and professional. We truly hope you will find the workbook useful in your daily life if you're an ADHD adult, and likewise if you're a therapist or professional coach using it as a tool in your work with clients.

We are grateful for the professional endorsements of our workbook from Russell Ramsay, who wrote the foreword, DBT cohort Kiki Fehling, PhD, and Ari Tuckman. We look forward to receiving comments and endorsements from our readers. This will help us keep going in our work, help us disseminate DBT for Adult ADHD, and provide feedback to refine our work as needed.

In the meantime, we wish you all a lovely weekend! Be mindful out there.
