Due to recent Kansas law, school districts and educators must limit social media to one-way communication with students. Since we can't always know if we're communicating with a student, we are no longer able to respond to direct messages or comment-based conversations on our social media pages.

It's important to us to provide support when needed. Please contact your student's school or message us at [email protected] if you need assistance.

What an incredible four weeks!
Our SOAR Ready Summer Camp students spent the summer growing as leaders through service, creativity, teamwork, and STEAM. They rebuilt our school gardens, painted a mural, designed bulletin boards and t-shirts, enjoyed three field trips, and made lasting connections along the way.
We couldn't be more proud of these students and all they accomplished. They truly helped make Curtis a better place while learning what it means to SOAR.

Good morning and happy Falcon Friday!

Our Soar Ready Summer crew has been doing a few service projects including fixing up our garden areas. Today Mrs. Hesting came and replaced the last few edgers and laid the final bags of mulch so we can mark the front garden finished. We are so proud of the hard work the kids put in so far.

Gardens are funny. You spend weeks watering, weeding, and wondering if anything is happening...
Then suddenly things start growing.
Sometimes life works the same way.
Have a great weekend!

Check out a few frequently asked questions about bonds and their answers ⬇️ You can learn more about the potential bond proposal at www.wpsbond.org.

On June 1, the Board of Education will consider putting a bond proposal on the November ballot. More information can be found at wpsbond.org.

What is a bond?
β€’ A bond is similar to how a family might take out a mortgage to buy or renovate a home. A bond is how school districts in Kansas pay for major building and facility projects, as the district’s capital budget is intended to cover smaller repairs and predictive and preventative maintenance.

β€’ In Kansas, a school bond must be approved by voters. If approved, the district repays the bond over time using local property taxes.

β€’ A bond is used for long-term investments in buildings and infrastructure. It can’t be used for day-to-day school expenses such as paying teacher salaries or other operational expenses.
