Cooper Elementary is hiring for the 2026-2027 school year. We are looking for two Kindergarten para-educators and one Special Education para-educator. These positions are perfect for individuals interested in working in education, enrolled in teacher education programs, or looking to align their work schedules with their family schedules. Paras help create a safe, positive, and fun environment for our students while making a difference for every student, every day.

1. Online enrollment is open now and can be completed from home by logging into Skyward

2. In-Person Enrollment: Monday (July 27th) from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Spanish translators will be available.

We are excited to offer the Cooper Boutique again this year!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Derby community we are able to provide free clothing and household items to families living in the Oaklawn community. All of the items were graciously donated during the Derby Public Schools and Derby Rotary Club's Garage Sale with a Purpose in June, and now they're ready to find new homes!

We are seeking volunteers to help set up the Cooper Boutique in the Cooper Elementary gymnasium (4625 S. Juniper St., Wichita, KS) on Wednesday, July 29, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Whether you can volunteer for an hour or the entire day, any amount of time is greatly appreciated! Please indicate your anticipated availability below.

Volunteers are asked to park in the parking lot on the south side of the school building and enter through door #11. (follow the sidewalk to the west of the building up and around to the door marked #11).
