๐ŸŒŸ Field Experience Spotlight! ๐ŸŒŸ

This semester, weโ€™re excited to highlight some of our WSU School Psychology graduate students completing their Field Experience in rural Kansas!

Field Experience is a supervised, school-based mental health practicum experience that gives students the opportunity to take what theyโ€™ve learned in the classroom and apply it directly with K-12 students in rural school communities.

Meet Morgan McCosh, Megan Brandley, Crissy Denniston, Jordan Means, and Nellie Accito and learn a little more about the future school psychologists behind the work! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ–ค

Weโ€™re excited to follow their journey as they continue developing the skills to support the academic, behavioral, social, and emotional well-being of students, particularly in rural communities.

We are proud to highlight our students in action as they complete their field experiences through the SPIRSS (School Psychology Partnerships to Increase Rural School-Based Services) grant.
Through this initiative, our graduate students are gaining hands-on experience delivering school-based mental health and behavioral services in high-need and rural districts. Under close supervision, they are applying evidence-based practices, conducting assessments, supporting interventions, and making a meaningful impact on students, families, and school communities.
SPIRSS reflects our commitment to preparing highly skilled, practice-ready professionals while expanding access to critical services where they are needed most. We are incredibly proud of the dedication, professionalism, and growth our students demonstrate in the field every day.

๐ŸŽ“ Celebrating Our Students at NASP 2026
Weโ€™re proud of our three SPIRSS Graduate Research Assistants who presented their work at NASP 2026 and represented our program with professionalism and dedication. The photos also highlight the strong presence of our program, including clinical faculty member Jacy Krsmanovic and other students who attended the conference.
A special recognition goes to Morgan McCosh, who served as the graduate student organization president for the past two years and played an important role in revitalizing the organization after COVID, rebuilding student engagement and leadership in the program.
As these students transition into their field experiences this fall, we thank them for their contributions as GRAs and look forward to seeing their continued growth as they work toward graduation in Spring 2027.
๐Ÿ‘ Congratulations on representing the program so well!
