Projects in the 2026 Wichita Public Schools bond are addressing a combination of high‑priority district needs and community supported projects. Wichita Public Schools is committed to maximizing every available funding source to support students, staff and schools across the district. Gordon Parks Academy is anticipated to receive $930,000 in HVAC control upgrades, HVAC optimization throughout the building, and LED lighting upgrades through a federal energy grant. Here is what staff and students had to say:

Mr. Flores is a team player! He treats everyone so kind and with respect. He has taken on many roles, supports numerous events, provides clear communication and has such a positive attitude! He has pushed himself to higher limits and out of his comfort zone, he is a leader and a role model. Students and staff respect him, trust him- parents in the mornings trust him, his outlook and views are appreciated. His presence is felt across the staff, and students as a safe adult. His engaging teaching style allows students to be successful in gym class and life. GPA is blessed to have him back!

Mrs. Winegart she has some of the best classroom management I have seen. Every time I have been in her classroom, she has tools and strategies ready to support her students, and her students are able to clearly explain what they are learning. She is always calm, cool, and collected, even while managing everything happening in the classroom. What I appreciate most is that there is always something I can learn from watching her teach, no matter what grade level you are in. She is a great example of what strong classroom management and effective teaching can look like.
