Karate Training 4-12-20
I hope that everyone is staying safe and being well during this pandemic. Just like other dojo's, we are putting out videos and live feeds to encourage students to practice and train at home. During this isolation period, it is a great opportunity to really work on your self development and self discovery. Take this opportunity to get some quality training by focusing on how to make each technique faster and more powerful.
In this short video we pick a sequence out of kata and focus on how to make it stronger and faster through better body mechanics.
Training 2 16 20
With classes at the dojo being canceled due to COVID-19, I want to make sure that as we are confined to being at home, we are still practicing and training. There are things that can be done at home without having to run through a complete workout. For instance, pick one thing, one technique and work on it. Figure out the correct body mechanics, ask yourself, am I putting out enough speed and power? In this video, we look at down block-reverse punch. Key take away is how can we generate speed and power without having extra, wasted movement.
