A great day celebrating the music of all the countries represented in our studio! We celebrated other countries' cultures, too, with duets and trios that we were happy to explore!

Congratulations to Sam Ta for earning an Honorable Mention in the Elementary Division of the Wichita Metropolitan Music Teachers Association’s 2022 Spring Auditions! His judge really liked his style!

This weekend, we capped off a great spring with students who, beginning in January, entered the WSU Middle School/High School Festival. All the students, Hayden Barnes, Addie Smothermon, Josiah Dunn, Matthew Goodman, and Keira Le got I ratings and great comments as did Mei-Lin Le and Ella Goodman in the WSU Student Music Teachers Shocker Festival! Congratulations to all, and to Josiah Dunn, who won second place in his division of the Wichita Music Teachers' Spring Festival this weekend!!

Just before Christmas we celebrated Beethoven's birthday with artwork created for us by Ella Goodman! We wished him a happy 250th with videos from the Fabers and games, and cupcakes with candles, of course!

We had a blast last summer and fall with our Zoom course and festival! We had Beatles song-videos, an engineered recording of a Bach flute due, and Alto Sax and piano solos to share along with all we learned about what we owe to Bach and the Beatles!!

Catching up...after almost a year of pandemic complications, we want to celebrate the students' many accomplishments! (We've been so busy, I haven't had time to enter all the memories!! )
We began, last summer, with our annual "Music Progressions" evaluations by ourselves, in the studio. A real celebration of all our accomplishments!!

He gave us musical forms, musical fun, and musical patterns to guide us. And he gave us an example by overcoming hard circumstances again and again! The kids know the reason why he worked so hard to become an excellent musician! You can ask any of them!

Ethan, h.s. sophomore, teaching students to "raed from the btotom up" when first looking at new music. It worked!!

Some of "my" kids with Jim Brickman, last night at Senseney Music. Over 20 of us were there enjoying this charming and sincere and talented musician whose purpose was to encourage all of us to take more piano lessons!

Can't resist one more post! This is one student's illustration for her song, "The Wave." She had to sit at our worktable and follow rules of composition before she even played some of it. Her song turned out to be lovely, because music rules are taken from what we like to hear! And now all the students can tell you the secret of the most successful music!!
