These watercolor notes and rests posters were a big help to my students last year. I put them in a different area than my word wall, and it was interesting to see how some kids would look to my word wall and some would look to my notes/rests posters. Different things work better for different students!

Years ago I sat down to create these music room rules and I came up with a little song to go with each one. The melodies are taken from folk songs, and they are a fun way of helping to teach my classroom rules. When I see that they are not following one of these rules, I can sing the song that goes with this rule, they join in, and it gets us back on track.

Do you use a Solfege Street bulletin board? I love having one up in my classroom. This beach themed one might be my favorite one I've done. 🏖️🐚
If you would like to do a Solfa Street (or beach) and don't have bulletin board space you can always put magnets on the back of the houses and use them on a board. Then they are even easier to adjust for different grade levels based on what they know.

What do you feel are the MOST ESSENTIAL things to put on your bulletin boards or posters that you like to hang up on your wall?
Here are some that I really like to get up
- Solfa Street Bulletin board
- Word Wall
- Movement Word Wall
- Objectives for each grade level
- My daily schedule posted somewhere because otherwise I'd lose track of start/end times. I'm sure it is a help when I have a sub too.

Do you post the music standards in or outside of your classroom? In the past I've posted them in the hallway outside of our classroom so that others in the building can read as they walk by!
You can find this set here: http://bit.ly/TropicalMusicStandards
Or in my Tropical Bundle here: http://bit.ly/TropicalMusicRoom
