Congratulations to Meghan McEvoy, Washburn, 2012.

Meghan has joined the Fleming Law Firm, LLC in Pittsburg, KS.

Meghan grew up in Independence, KS. She earned Political Science and Criminology degrees from Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas.

In 2012, Meghan graduated summa cm laude from Washburn University School of Law. She was also selected as a J.L. Weigand, Jr. Legal Education Trust Scholar during her third year of law school and remains active in this organization.

From 2012 to 2014, she worked as a law clerk for a federal district court judge in Kansas City, Kansas. For the next 11 years, Meghan worked in the Office of the General Counsel of the Social Security Administration where she handled social security disability cases in various federal district courts and in the Eighth and Sixth Circuit Courts of Appeal.

In June 2024, Meghan and her family moved from Kansas City to Pittsburg, where she enjoys living near family, attending church and school events, and getting involved in the community. Meghan is licensed to practice law in Kansas and Missouri, and she is proud to serve the Southeast Kansas community.

Congratulations to Liam Reilly on the start up of his fractional general counsel company called Reilly GC! He's focus is working with businesses, especially in contracts, governance work, parnerships, or investor matters and outside counsel management.

Congratulations, Mary! Mary Mason began her next chapter at Spencer Fane LLP last week! She has joined the Employee Benefits Practice Group in the firm’s Overland Park office.

Congratulations to Gabby Phillips, who began a one-year Term Law Clerk position with Judge Toby Crouse this week. Judge Crouse serves on the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas in Topeka.

Congratulations to John Shaughnessy on accepting post-graduate employment with Husch Blackwell in Kansas City!
John will be joining the Intellectual Property department, where fellow Weigand Scholar Paige E. Reese is also employed.

When John begins in the fall of 2026, it will be a landmark day for Weigands at Husch. On that same day, Weigand Scholars Bernadette Shaughnessy and Gabrielle Phillips will also start at the firm. Bernadette will join the Commercial Litigation group, while Gabby will be part of the Healthcare Regulatory team.

They will be joining a strong and growing Weigand presence at Husch Blackwell, which already includes Christina Pyle Engle, Taylor Concannon Hausmann, Riley Nickel, Lizzy McEntire and Ellie Augustine.
