Congratulations to senior tuba and trombone player Vincent Finley on being named 2025 Winter Homecoming King last week!
Thank you to everyone who got up in the sixes for picture day!! And check out our AD representing the Band!
We had a really good Band Camp week and averaged about 82% attendance which I greatly appreciate. A lot was accomplished this week: marching basics were introduced to the freshmen and reviewed with the upperclassmen, lots of music was worked on, we heard from some excellent guest speakers, several games were played and the Seniors won a coveted Homework Pass. It was a busy and productive week!!
(When pictures are posted on our page we ask that nobody is tagged please and thanks).

Congratulations to our Band members that performed today in the District 6 South Central District Honor Orchestra Amara Finley, second from left; and Band: Gabby Nicholson, clarinet and Vincent Finley, tuba. Sebastian Ybarra, far left, bari sax was the first alternate for the Honor Band. Amara, Gabby & Vincent are now eligible to audition in January for the 56A State Band. Congratulations & good luck!
I’m really proud of our kids. 19 years of a First Division Rating. (Shhhh - they don’t know yet).
After a long day yesterday, seven of our Campus Colts finally made it to Manhattan for a 3-hour rehearsal with other band members from across Kansas to prepare for half-time for this afternoon with the KSUMB. On a cold, rainy afternoon, after an hour weather delay, it was finally halftime. Our Campus Colts performed extremely well and were outstanding ambassadors for Campus and Haysville
First full week is in the books!
- We will have a Band Booster meeting this Tuesday, August 30th at 7pm in the Band Room. We will be looking help in four main areas: putting Drum Major ladders out at games; coordinating parents to work at concessions for football; coordinating parents to work at basketball games; Dinner Concert donations coordinator. Students whose parents attend this meeting will receive a “coveted homework pass”.
- We are in need of 3-4 more parents to be sponsors for our State Fair trip on 9/12. We’ll leave before school starts and be back by 2:30. Sponsors ride the buses with the students, help with water & tickets and eat lots of Fair food, ride rides and, well, we know what happens with that combination. 😂
****MANY students have not turned in their supply order form (44) or their Medical form (25). Students received these on the first day of Band and they were due this past Tuesday. Please help a band director out and ask your students about these papers. Many thanks!
- An updated schedule is below and next week students will receive a schedule for the Fair and Homecoming Parade (9/30). The schedule will also be posted in GC.
