Essential Riding Skills to practice Part III:

Smooth Downshifting

Smooth downshifting is another essential skill riders should consistently develop. A smooth downshift is simple to achieve. All you need to do is to correspond the engine speed to the appropriate lower gear.

Therefore, the correct clutch release is very important. Dumping the clutch with ill-matched RPM will cause the chassis to wobble. There’s also the possibility of rear tire skipping. Therefore, a tactical clutch release counters the disparities in engine speed.

🍂 FALL RIDING TIPS — PART 4
Watch for Wildlife 🦌

Fall means more wildlife activity — and that can mean more animals crossing the road.

Especially around dawn and dusk, keep your eyes moving and watch the roadsides for movement.

🦌 Don't assume one animal is alone.
🏍️ Slow down when you're riding through areas with heavy wildlife activity.
👀 Keep scanning ahead instead of focusing on just one spot.

And if you see an animal near the road, don't try to outrun it or make a last-second aggressive move.

Stay alert. Stay in control.

Fall riding is about enjoying the ride and making it home safely. 🍂🏍️

🍂 FALL RIDING TIPS — PART 3
Visibility Matters 👀🏍️

Shorter days mean you may find yourself riding in lower light more often.

🌅 Sunrise and sunset can create serious glare.
🌙 Darkness comes earlier.
🍂 Leaves and shadows can make hazards harder to spot.

Make sure your lights are working, keep your visor clean, and wear gear that helps you remain visible to other motorists.

And remember:

If you can't see clearly, slow down.

Your destination isn't going anywhere. 🏍️

🍂 FALL RIDES 🏍️

#5 — Ozark Highlands Scenic Byway, Arkansas

We’re bringing this one a little closer to home!

📍 Ozark Highlands Scenic Byway — Arkansas
🛣️ 35 miles through the Boston Mountains

If you like winding roads, mountain views, and fall colors, this is definitely one to add to the list. 🍁🏍️

The route winds through the Ozarks with oak forests, rugged terrain, rivers, and streams along the way. Mid-October is typically a great time to catch the fall colors.

And let’s be honest… you don’t always have to travel across the country to find a great motorcycle ride. 😉
