Parent/Caregiver Survey 05/08/2026

Dear parents and caregivers,
We need your help!
Our school is developing a Safe Routes to School plan. We want all students to have a safe path to school everyday but we don't always know the challenges your family faces on the ways to school. With your input, the plan will recommend ways to make walking and biking to school easier, safer, and more comfortable for students and families. The Wichita Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (WAMPO) will use this information to recommend programs, infrastructure projects, and other potential improvements to be implemented across the region with local partners.
Please take 5 minutes to complete the survey and help us create a better plan!

Dear Adams Staff and Families,
We are writing to invite you to take part in a brief survey and community visioning meeting as part of our ongoing planning for the future of Adams. Wichita Public Schools is working to understand what matters most to the people who know these buildings — and these communities — best. That means you.
We know this is a busy time of year, and we are genuinely grateful for any time you can give us. The survey takes approximately 8 to 10 minutes. It asks three core questions about what you value, what you hope for, and what you want to make sure we don’t lose as we plan for the future. Your responses will be used directly in our upcoming visioning meeting — the more voices we hear from, the stronger our starting point will be.
The survey is open now and will remain open through Wednesday, May 6th. You can access it here:
► English Version - https://forms.gle/hXcuR1NsqLUxue8b9
► Spanish Version - https://forms.gle/6pHamTDS5YeBu42J8
We will be taking snapshots of the survey data along the way to use in each visioning meeting, so we encourage you to complete it before your school’s scheduled meeting if you can. That way your input can be reflected in the conversation on the night you attend.
Community Visioning Meetings
All meetings begin at 4:30 PM and are planned for 90 minutes. Light refreshments will be available.

Meeting held at Adams Elementary
All are welcome at any session, but we hope you will attend the meeting scheduled for your school community.

What to Expect at the Meeting
These meetings are designed to be active, hands-on conversations — not presentations you sit through. We will open by sharing back what we heard from the survey, so the room can see its own priorities reflected before the conversation begins. From there, small groups will work together to align and rank what matters most for the future building — things like learning environments, outdoor spaces, community connection, and school identity. We will then look at real examples from other schools through a set of precedent images and ask you to react honestly: what resonates, what doesn’t, and what you don’t want to lose. We will close by walking through illustrative site and floor-plan diagrams together, marking them up as a group and capturing what works, what raises questions, and what we want to protect. Everything you contribute in the room — your votes, your reactions, your markups — goes directly into a written summary that guides the design team’s next steps. Your voice has a real destination. We hope you’ll join us.
We understand this is a demanding stretch of the school year, and we do not take your time for granted. This process works best when it reflects a wide range of voices — teachers, staff, and parents alike. Even a few minutes on the survey makes a real difference.
Thank you for being part of this community and for helping us plan something that will serve students well for years to come. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions.
With appreciation,
Stacy Burke
