Explore our hands-on field trip experiences, interactive add-ons, and educational resources designed to bring Native history and culture to life for your students.

Meet our staff, ask questions, and discover new ways to connect your classroom with the museum. Teachers receive FREE admission all day!

Due to recent Kansas law, school districts and educators must limit social media to one-way communication with students. Since we can't always know if we're communicating with a student, we are no longer able to respond to direct messages or comment-based conversations on our social media pages.

We hope you can join us for a fun Back-to-School Family Movie Night at the Mid-America All-Indian Museum on Friday, August 21st, from 6:00–8:00 p.m.

We'll enjoy pizza, popcorn, and a collection of family-friendly Indigenous short films as we celebrate the start of a new school year together.

The start of school will soon be here! The first day of school is Thursday, Aug. 13. A half-day of orientation for students new to middle and high school is Wednesday, Aug. 12.

It was so nice seeing so many students and their families at last night’s School Supply Giveaway! 📚🎒

Shout out to Project Teacher for the generous backpack donations and to Hunter Health for sharing information about the resources they offer to our families. We appreciate our community partners who help make events like this possible! 🙏🏼

One of the most common requests we hear from parents is for more opportunities for our Native youth to learn traditional dance styles.
If you or someone you know has experience with powwow dance and would be interested in teaching or mentoring our Title VI students, we'd love to connect with you!

Calling Native Community Members!
Do you have a talent, tradition, skill, or story you'd love to share with the next generation? The WPS Title VI Native American Education Program is building a network of Native community partners interested in supporting Native students through cultural education, mentorship, leadership, and enrichment opportunities.

We're looking for elders, artists, dancers, singers, storytellers, language speakers, professionals, veterans, college students, cultural educators, and anyone who has a passion for sharing their knowledge and experiences. Whether you enjoy teaching a traditional craft, talking about your career, reading to students, sharing your culture, or have a unique idea of your own, we'd love to hear from you!

School Supply Giveaway! 🎒
We're excited to share that, thanks to a generous donation, the Wichita Public Schools Title VI Native American Program will be hosting a School Supply Giveaway!

📅 Date: Thursday, July 30th
🕕 Time: 6:00pm
📍 Location: Alvin Morris Administrative Center (AMAC)
903 S. Edgemoor
🚗 Park in the south parking lot between AMAC and Curtis Middle School

Who is eligible?
To receive school supplies, students must:
✔️ Be enrolled in Wichita Public Schools
✔️ Have a completed Title VI Native American Program Eligibility Certification (506) Form on file with our office.

Students do not need to be present for a parent or guardian to pick up their school supplies.

We will have supplies available for:
🎒 Elementary students
📚 Middle school students
🎓 High school students

Join the Mid-America All-Indian Museum every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. for a special story time inside our tipi.

Families will enjoy award-winning children's books that celebrate Native cultures, traditions, and storytelling, followed by a hands-on activity.
