๐๐โโ๏ธ3rd place at 3A State Track! ๐๐ฅDespite taking just four boys to state, they brought home 3rd place overall!!! And we had THREE state champions in the mix! Logan Clay took the title in discus, Jai Johnson won for long jump, and Timmy Ritchie cleaned house, taking the state title in the 100, 200, and 400 meter races!!! In addition to the state titles, we saw Julian Johnson get 12th in long jump, Logan get 8th in javelin, and Jai taking 5th in the 200, 6th in the 100, and 9th in the 400! In the girlsโ events Ellie Howell ended her track career on the podium, earning 8th in the 800, and teammate Savannah Vess took 16th in the same event! We are so proud of how these Spartans represented Wichita Collegiate at the 1-6A state track meet. Congratulations, Spartans! ๐๐ ๐๐

Former 2nd grade teacher Shirley Meissner was one of the earlier adopters of Seesaw as a communication tool. She immediately saw the value in how it could build bridges between the classroom and parents and the classroom and other students. We loved this story shared on Seesaw's website about the connections she made through the larger Seesaw global community. Mrs. Meissner has always been a champion of connecting...whether it is with fellow teachers across the globe (online and finally in person this spring!) or with her former students at graduation...and we love seeing that celebrated globally! If you ask any of our lower school teachers about their favorite days of the year, Community Impact Day is always near the top. Though it may be just one day, creating an environment of impact is something they encourage our students to strive for all year long. They often find themselves asking our students the question, โHow did you help today?โ We always love hearing their responses, and it often leads us back to the reminder: โSmall acts, big impact.โ
Friday was our Lower School Community Impact Day and our 1stโ4th graders spent the entire day doing both big and small tasks as they worked to make a positive impact on campus and throughout the community as our 3rd and 4th graders also headed off-campus on service-learning field trips to Blue Sky Ranch and Envision. Through our partnerships, students packaged 14,316 meals for The Outreach Program, made 206 cards for the Color the World Project, potted 64 plants for Larksfield Place, assembled 50 โBirthday in a Bagโ kits for the Kansas Food Bank, donated 139 items to Wesley Childrenโs Hospital, and created 16 fleece tie blankets for the Child Advocacy Center.
But it isnโt just about the numbers. While we may spend one full day focused on serving others, our hope is that we are planting the seeds for a lifetime of loving and caring for those around us. ๐๐

While we have spent the week highlighting so many of the impressive numbers behind the Class of 2026, but one thing we will never be able to count is the number of memories this group made together. We are grateful for the years they got to share and the friendships they built along the way, and we know the bonds made here will last long after graduation. ๐๐ ๐๐
