Calling all WSU jazz musicians: Keep Music in your schedule by auditioning for a Wichita State jazz ensemble! 🎷

Jazz Arts I and II are traditional 19-piece big bands performing swing, Latin, rock, pop and contemporary works. Students can also explore small-group performance through jazz combos and the Guitar Ensemble.

Rehearsals:

Calling all WSU musicians: Keep Music in your schedule with Wichita State’s new Commercial Music Ensembles! 🎸🎤🥁

Perform rock, pop, funk, R&B, soul and other contemporary music in a collaborative, high-energy environment. Open to students from all majors, these ensembles are your opportunity to create, rehearse and perform the music you already know and love.

Open to music and non-music majors, the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band perform traditional and contemporary works while bringing together more than 100 student musicians.

Bring energy and excitement to Shocker basketball games, community events and special performances as part of Wichita State’s high-octane athletic band program. Musicians of all experience levels and academic programs are welcome, including graduate students. No wind auditions are required.

Join The William Flynn Trio, featuring Dale Black on bass and Chris Guthrie on drums, for an evening of original music, modern jazz standards and the kind of musical chemistry that only comes from years of collaboration.
