Congrats to senior Sami Skibell on signing with the University of Central Missouri yesterday! We are excited to see Sami have a huge senior season on the track this spring! The Jennies are getting a terrific athlete but an even better person! Very proud of you!

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to make sure everyone knows of the big football game this Friday at 7::00 vs SME @ SM North. The football team won regionals last week and a win this Friday advances them to the state semifinals. This is a great time for us to come together as a North community and cheer the team on to STATE!! I hope to see everyone in their blue and grey Friday and cheer loud and proud for our boys of fall. Please pass this along to all your friends and student athletes. We even can have a Johnny’s celebration after the big WIN!!!

The game is at Shawnee Mission North District Stadium. Directions:

2017 State Team!

Beyond proud of Blue Valley North Track and Field! Great job on competing at the Kansas State Track and Field Championships at Cessna Stadium in Wichita!

Many great individual and relay efforts led to many athletes reaching the podium! Special recognition to the following who received medals:

Girls Team: 4th place overall in 6A with 39 points!

State Placers:
100m hurdles: - 2nd Place- State Runner Up- Lillian Schenk (NEW SCHOOL RECORD- 14.90)

400m dash: 5th Place- Lauren Graham- 59.85

800m run: 1st Place- STATE CHAMPION- Sophie Scott - 2:17.24

1600m run: 2nd place- State Runner Up- Sophie Scott - (NEW SCHOOL RECORD- 5:01.47)

3200m run: 8th place - Lily Strauss- 11:25.87

Girls 4x400m Relay: 2nd Place- State Runner Up-1st leg- Lauren Graham 2nd leg- Lillian Schenk 3rd leg- Anna Martin, 4th leg-Sophie Scott (NEW SCHOOL RECORD- 4:00.55)

Boys: 21st place overall in 6A with 13 points total.

State Placers:
Discus throw: 5th Place- Nick Orr- 144 feet-9 inches

100m dash: 7th Place- Vencent Binkley-Allen-11.07

200m dash: 3rd Place- Laron Calloway- 22.08

1600m run: 8th Place- Carter Williams- 4:32.39

14 yrs ago: KSU walk-on Jordy Nelson of 3A Riley Co. won the 100,200,400,LJ at the state outdoor with zero D1 scholarships in anything. Still has 3A 100m/200m records. Now: All-Pro WR w/ Packers & a Super Bowl Ring

Thank you so much for your support of the BVN track & field program and your athletes!!

We would like to send off our seniors and entire team the right way and congratulate all of our athletes on a successful year!!

Tuesday, May 23 at 6:00 pm, we will have our end of the year award ceremony in the BVN Commons. We would love to have families donate desserts to have there that night as part of the celebration.

If you are willing to donate a dessert, please respond to Nicole Picollo ([email protected]) with what you will bring (cookies, brownies, cupcakes, etc) and how many.

I think if we can get families to donate treats it would be awesome way to end the year!

There will be tables set up in the commons for desserts and you can bring them at the time you arrive for the awards

New this year DJ Alex Reed will be providing a photo booth before and after the awards ceremony. This should be a great way to celebrate an outstanding track season!
