Congratulations to junior Lillie Tracy and her horse, Jill, for winning the Kansas High School Pole Bending Championship at the state rodeo finals in May! They will compete at nationals in July. Go Crusaders!

Every year, the Greater Wichita Sports Banquet shines a spotlight on the best high school athletes in south-central Kansas, and this year's class does not disappoint!

Introducing your 2026 Lynette Woodard High School Female Athlete of the Year finalists:
⭐ Chelsie Brown – Sterling High School
⭐ Rylee Meyer – Andale High School
⭐ Courtney Nye – Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School

And your 2026 Barry Sanders High School Male Athlete of the Year finalists:
⭐ Daniel Enriquez – Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School
⭐ Manny Myers – Mulvane High School
⭐ Zane Farney – Sterling High School

The winner of each award will be announced live at the Greater Wichita Sports Banquet — Thursday, June 25th at INTRUST Bank Arena.

Kapaun’s Daniel Enriquez chased his brother’s greatness. He leaves as a legend Enriquez spent his career chasing his older brother’s standard. He leaves with titles, state meet records and an Oklahoma State future.

Congratulations to the girls swim and dive team for their fourth place finish at state! Individual medalists were: Everley Maloney, third in 100 fly and fourth in 100 back; Gabby Kinman fifth in 1M dive; 200 free relay in fifth (Lorelai Sullenger, Blake Zaleski, Anna Vermeeren, Maloney); and the 200 medley relay in seventh (Maloney, Amanda Barleen, Zaleski, Vermeeren). Go Crusaders!
