Recent graduates Briaja Tucker and Hallie Fritz attended the June 3 Wichita Professional Communicators lunch and received first-place awards for their work in Shocker Ad Lab, along with Auryona Webb, on the 2025 Wichita Gridiron campaign, "Wickedly Funny."

We love when student work is recognized in a statewide professional competition. Congratulations Shocker Ad Lab fall 2025: Emily Rueda - art director, Abby Allen - copywriter and Khadija Ain Lhout - copywriter on your first-place win for branding and promoting "Let's Talk Comm."

Check out this short documentary produced in our Capstone Media Project Class. The doc pays tribute to the 46 seasons Mike Kennedy spent as the Voice of the Shockers, and it feature Elliott School alumnus Denning Gerig, who was just named as Mike's replacement. The doc was produced by students Nick Flynn, Owen Prothro and Mack Smith. The project class was taught by Amy DeVault.

Congratulations to Amelia Boor, our Shocker Speakout winner for Spring 2026!
Her speech, "Why the U.S. Should Regulate Chemotherapy," impressed our entire judging panel. Way to go, Amelia!
