We’re excited for you to get to know our principal and the heart behind St. Anne Catholic School.

Here’s a message from her:

Hello, St. Anne Catholic School families! My name is Maira Silva, and I am so excited and blessed to begin this new journey as your principal! ❤️

I was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, and my parents are from Mexico. I attended both public and Catholic schools, graduated from Bishop Carroll, earned my bachelor’s degree from Wichita State University, and my master’s degree from Newman University.

I have been working in education for 22 years—19 years as a teacher and the last 3 years as an assistant principal at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School.

My greatest blessings are my family: my husband and our two children, Anjel, a sophomore at Wichita State University, and Mia, a junior at Bishop Carroll.

I am a member of Cathedral Parish, and my faith is a very important part of who I am. I am so grateful for the warm welcome I have already received from so many St. Anne families. I truly feel loved, supported, and welcomed.

I am excited for all that God has in store for St. Anne Catholic School! Let’s make this a wonderful year together!

Nos emociona que puedan conocer a nuestra directora y el corazón que trae para la Escuela Católica St. Anne.

Aquí les comparte un mensaje:

Mi nombre es Maira Silva y me siento muy emocionada y bendecida de comenzar esta nueva etapa como su directora. ❤️

Nací y crecí en Wichita, Kansas, y mis padres son originarios de México. Asistí tanto a escuelas públicas como católicas, me gradué de Bishop Carroll, obtuve mi licenciatura en Wichita State University y mi maestría en Newman University.

He trabajado en el ámbito educativo durante 22 años: 19 años como maestra y los últimos 3 años como subdirectora en St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School.

Mi mayor bendición es mi familia: mi esposo y nuestros dos hijos, Anjel, estudiante de segundo año en Wichita State University, y Mia, estudiante de tercer año en Bishop Carroll.

Somos miembros de la Catedral, y mi fe es una parte muy importante de mi vida. Estoy profundamente agradecida por la cálida bienvenida que ya he recibido de tantas familias de St. Anne. Verdaderamente me he sentido querida, apoyada y acogida.

¡Estoy muy emocionada por todo lo que Dios tiene preparado para la Escuela Católica St. Anne! Hagamos de este un año maravilloso juntos.

What an amazing 6 weeks at Stars of Mary Summer Camp!
Over the past six weeks, our campers learned how Mary always leads us closer to Jesus through prayer, crafts, making rosaries, honoring Mary with flowers, and praying the Rosary together and we ended the summer with a fun picnic and water fight!

A heartfelt thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who made this camp possible!

Mary, lead us always to your Son, Jesus! 🙏💙

This week, our Parish Leadership Team is attending a Leadership Immersive with Fr. John Riccardo.

As they spend this time in prayer, formation, and discernment, we ask our parish family to please keep them in your prayers. May the Holy Spirit guide them with wisdom, clarity, and renewed zeal as they continue serving our parish community.

Today we joyfully celebrate St. Anne and St. Joachim, the parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the grandparents of Jesus.

Their faithful example reminds us of the beauty of family, the importance of passing on our faith, and the lasting impact that parents and grandparents have on future generations. Through their love and trust in God, they helped prepare the way for our Savior.

On this special feast day, let us pray for all families, especially for grandparents, that they may continue to be a source of wisdom, love, and faith for generations to come.

Hoy celebramos con alegría a Santa Ana y San Joaquín, padres de la Santísima Virgen María y abuelos de Jesús.

Su fiel ejemplo nos recuerda la belleza de la familia, la importancia de transmitir nuestra fe y el profundo impacto que los padres y los abuelos tienen en las futuras generaciones. Con su amor y confianza en Dios, ayudaron a preparar el camino para nuestro Salvador.

As we prepare for the Feast of St. Anne and St. Joachim next Sunday, we invite you to join us in praying the novena for the spiritual and material well-being of our parish.

Today is Day 3-let’s continue praying together and entrust our parish to the loving intercession of St. Anne.
