Wichita State University Department of Political Science

Political Science would like to provide each of our majors with an 'applied learning passport' to document their hands-on experiences as they progress through the degree. This includes role playing experiences, local, state and national internships, Model UN conferences, and research projects among others. The passport is a fun way for students to keep track of these experiences and would provide talking points for job interviews as students recognize the skills gained through these experiences. Please contribute to help us launch this new initiative!

Carolyn Shaw, professor of political science, received the John R. Barrier Distinguished Teaching Award​, Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

This award recognizes faculty with a well-established record of excellence in teaching; an impact on the lives and career choices of students; and the ability to apply the results of research or the experience of community or professorial service to enliven teaching and enrich the understanding of students​.
