We had the pleasure of engaging with nearly 300 high school juniors and senior students from Wichita Public Schools and surrounding areas with the passion to become teachers at the Ed Rising South Central Regional Conference and Competitions.
Students spent time exploring teacher education degree programs at WSU but also had the opportunity to attend breakout sessions presented by several of our School of Education faculty: Dr. Danny Bergman (Middle/Secondary Science), Dr. Aubrey Neihaus (Middle/Secondary Math) , Dr. Fuchang Liu (Elementary Education), and Robin Folkerts (Elementary Education).
See you on Campus, Future Shockers 🖤💛🖤💛

Thank you to the WSU faculty, and students, teachers and community members that joined us for our largest fall colloquium yet! Dr. Karlos Hill gave an inspiring talk on the Tulsa Massacre and led an engaging discussion on how Healing History Pedagogy can move topics and events from divisive to humanizing, modeling for us how compassion and community can heal these deep historical traumas in our society.
