Friday, a group of choir students sang at the McCormick School Christmas Open House.

Ms. Semple's Structured Learning students enjoyed a Thankful Feast with their parents on Monday. Not only did they enjoy a delicious feast, but celebrated their 1st semester accomplishments with their parents.
Student in one of Ms. Glenn's Language Arts classes enjoyed a guest speaker in class. A retired teacher, skydiver, and writer, she told the story of her sky diving accident which ended with the students learning a lesson on thankfulness and letting go of negativity.
This amazing group of Science teachers (with the help of some behind the scenes folks) pulled off another successful B.A.S.I.C. Day! It was an amazing day full of learning about science.
Students had 5 rotations throughout the day and learned about anything from dna, space, architecture, visual impairments, search and rescue dogs, birds of prey, health and food, fingerprinting, bugs to tons of other science related topics. It was an amazing day and we couldn’t do it without this amazing team! 💚

our front hall is looking good thanks to the help of our Leadership cadets! Our Gratitude Tree is being decorated! Cadets cut out leaves and students and staff are writing something they are thankful for and then hanging them on the tree.

6th graders are buildilng a world in Minecraft based on what they've learned about Ancient Egypt.
AVID students from Mead And Wichita HS South worked together in teams to create a “float” representing either AVID, thanksgiving or college. We had some amazing entries but these 5 were voted the best! AVID - Wichita Public Schools, USD 259
SNOWBALL FIGHT!! 8th grade AVID students are visiting South High and getting to know high school AVID students.
Mrs. Luttrell helps orchestra students tune their instruments at the beginning of class. The winter orchestra concert on December 5 is quickly approaching and students are working hard to prepare!
6th grade math students are applying math skills to real life, planning and building a resort.

These kids all earned a 3.5 HPA or higher during 1st quarter. We are looking forward to celebrating with even more kids at the end of 2nd quarter!

Last Saturday, November 11, well over 200 middle school Leadership cadets from all 8 Leadership Middle Mchools participated in the Veterans Day Parade. It was a good day!

The grade level that brings in the most donations will earn:
1. An extra 20 minute recess!
2. To see their principal in a turkey suit
3. A FREE dress down day!
4. Bragging rights!
All donated items will be collected on Friday morning and delivered to the USD259 dropoff siteat the WaterWalk.
