Today, Washington Elementary staff attended Rally at the Roundhouse! We enjoyed hearing the inspiring Gerry Brooks and connecting with colleagues.

Yesterday, we were able to deliver breakfast (shout out The Big Biscuit!) and a little surprise to Washington Elementary School.

The energy in the room was unmatched! These educators are ready to have a great school year. Our partners from Love Schools are ready to support them. It’s going to be a lot of fun!

Bringing the Magic ✨🪄

Today, we officially kicked off the 2026-2027 school year with our first teacher in-service at Washington Elementary! It was wonderful to welcome our amazing staff back as we begin a new year of learning, growth, and success for our students.

We are incredibly honored to receive a generous $10,000 check from Love Schools and the Wichita Public Schools Foundation to support our school and our students. Thank you for investing in the magic happening at Washington Elementary!

The start of school will soon be here...next week! The first day of school is Thursday, Aug. 13. If you have not enrolled your child or children yet, please make your way to school and get them enrolled as soon as possible.

Have you enrolled for school? If you have not yet completed enrollment:

📌 Enroll online at usd259.org/enroll or by logging into your ParentVUE account. If you use the ParentVUE app, you will need to download the new ParentVUE app. Your login and password will remain the same.
📌 Families can check the status of their student’s enrollment by logging into ParentVUE and selecting Online Registration. From the welcome screen, select the profile icon in the top right corner and choose Status from the drop-down menu.
📌 In-person enrollment will take place from 9-11:30 a.m. and 12:30-2:30 p.m. through August 5. From August 7 through August 12, in-person enrollment hours will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you are unable to enroll in person during these dates and times, please contact your student's school.
📌 All kindergarten families will need to enroll in person. There is an additional questionnaire that parents of all kindergarten students must complete to help assess their child's developmental progress.

📆The first day of school is Thursday, August 13. All middle and high school students who are new to their building will attend a half-day orientation on Wednesday, August 12.

We met with our incredible Love Schools community partners to prepare for the upcoming school year, and we are truly grateful for your continued support and dedication to our students. 💙
