Looking back at the first-ever Kansas Urban Native Health Summit!

What started as a vision to strengthen connections across Kansas brought together 104 attendees, 75 organizations, 9 speakers and community leaders, and 16 informational booths—all centered on Native health, community, culture, and connection.

But the numbers only tell part of the story.

At the heart of the summit was a powerful reminder: health is rooted in connection—to culture, family, elders, youth, community, and one another.

Participants also shared priorities for partnership, workforce development, culturally responsive care, data sovereignty, and community-led solutions.

What started as a first is becoming a foundation for what comes next. As we look toward 2027, we carry that vision forward: Seen. Heard. Valued. Supported.

Our Prevention Initiatives Team is excited about the upcoming HOPE Fest 2026! ⚡️

We invite everyone to join us for a morning dedicated to hope, healing, wellness, and recovery at Wichita State University.

Attendees can visit community booths to collect wellness items and resources to create a personalized HOPE Kit, and explore the Recovery Roots Market, featuring handcrafted items from vendors in active recovery or with a lived connection to recovery.
