Augusta Schools USD 402 - Ewalt Elementary

This morning, excavation of our nature area began as the 1st step in our construction! We didn't have an "official" groundbreaking ceremony, but staff made our own to commemorate the event!

2025-26 Ewalt Kindergarten Graduation

There are a lot of things happening this week. Kindergarten graduation and the awards assembly are both on Tuesday at the high school. The awards assembly will start at 1:30 and graduation will be at 6. Field day is Wednesday, if you can help please contact Ms. Kepler. Classrooms also have a lot happening so please make sure you read the class newsletters.

If you drive by this summer you will notice a lot of work happening on the new additions being added to Ewalt. They will primarily be working on adding the music room to the end of the gym and the multipurpose room outside between the building and the nature area.

Finally, thank you all for giving me the opportunity to work with your children over the past 12 years. Being at Ewalt has been one of the highlights of my 34 years in education and I am so grateful for the students, families and staff I have had the pleasure to work with. I have been fortunate to spend almost a 1/3 of my career at Ewalt and will miss the daily greetings, smiles, hugs, and interactions. Your children and this school will always have a special place in my heart.

DAR holds a contest each year asking 2nd grade students to draw a picture to follow their theme. This year's theme was the 250th year celebration of America. We are EXTREMELY proud of our 2nd grader Henley N. She was chosen as 1st place, county wide. Moved forward to State level, again chosen for 1st place. Entered into the District level (surrounding 8 states), took 1st place again! Then was entered at the National level and was chosen for 2nd place! What a great accomplishment!

Congratulations to our last group of Inspiring Greyhounds. These kids are being recognized for Integrity. Great job Kashton F., Michael C., Parker W., Scarlett m., Harper D., Khaleesi E., Sadie B., Kyle M., Romeo L., Paityn M., Harmony M., Ivy H., Chloe A., Rose L., Raven P., and Axton C. We will recognize these students at our Awards Assembly at the high school at 1:30 on Tuesday, May 19th.

If your child is receiving an award at the end of the year assembly you will receive a message, probably email, from your child's teacher. Please make sure you are checking your email so you don't miss that message.
