Reading at home is very important practice that will help your child become a confident reader.

As you can see by the chart below, in a years time, reading 20 minutes extra at home can expose them to 1,800,000 additional words. That helps them become more fluent, confident readers with expanded vocabularies.

We want every child to read or to be read to for 20 minutes every night. Please record this time in their agenda.

Wichita school board votes to require masks indoors Starting Aug. 30, Wichita Public Schools students will be required to wear face masks indoors.

Today is a full day of online learning, please have your student log on at 9:00 this morning to begin our full day of remote learning! Stay inside and stay warm!!

Wichita Public Schools will transition to a full remote learning model today – Friday, February 12 – due to the intense cold windchill projected to occur this morning between 6-9 a.m. that will make conditions this morning dangerous for students. This means that no students will receive services on our school campuses. Today we finished our opinion writing about if our favorite animal would make a good pet! They’ve been working so hard the last few weeks and they read their papers to their classmates today. ✏️📚

Good Evening Parents!
Moments ago, our Board of Education voted to have students who enrolled in face-to-face at the beginning of the year come back to their elementary school buildings on Wednesday, January 13th for on site learning! Tomorrow your student will be working on self paced learning at home. We will be having a 9:00 AM meeting as a class to discuss the changes and answer any questions that you may have!!
