Mayberry Art Department

It is my honor to share that Mayberry has been named a 2023 School of Excellence by Magnet Schools of Merit America.

The Magnet School of America Awards recognizes member magnet schools/programs that demonstrate an exemplary commitment to academic standards, curriculum innovation, desegregation/diversity efforts, specialized teaching staffs, and parent and community involvement.

The Magnet School of Excellence is the top merit award category and is only awarded to a select group of magnet schools. We are the only magnet school in Wichita Public Schools to be awarded School of Excellence!

There are so many amazing things going on here at Mayberry, and now those things have been showcased and recognized at the National level!

I can’t wait to shout this from the rooftops!

6th graders first time trying printmaking. They did great!

I’m so proud of these students!! They entered amazing works of art in the school art competition at the Kansas State Fair!

Congratulations to Zyanya who won third place in the mixed media category and Kali who won 3rd place in the paint category!

Congratulations to Ella, Daniela, Miles, Megan, and Kierra who did outstanding jobs on their projects as well!

The 10th hour impact students made some signs to hang around the school hallways with inspiring messages to keep the panthers working hard, accepting all, and having a great day!

The 6th graders have been working so hard and are such amazing artists already!

The 7th and 8th graders learned all about 2 point perspective and how to create a dream room!
