Wichita State University Flute Studio

Wichita State University Flute Studio The FluteShocks fam is supportive, talented, and loves music! Join us! The flute studio at WSU is a tight-knit group of dedicated, busy students.

Everyone supports each other in their journey to excellence, realizing that one person’s path is most likely very different from their own. We enjoy the challenge of perfecting our craft! Our weekly studio class gives students the opportunity to try out new pieces, play run-throughs before performances, and discuss topics in practicing and teaching. We also prepare small flute ensemble music for performances in the community. Wichita State's School of Music delivers the limitless opportunities and resources students need to become tomorrow’s musical innovators in an environment that feels like family. Come join the FluteShocks Family!

Wrapping up our celebration of our graduated is Hannah Kavanaugh! 🎓🌻 She graduated this spring with her M.M. in Instrumental Performance. This fall, they're returning to WSU for a graduate certificate in jazz saxophone. When asked what she enjoyed about WSU, Hannah said, "I'm incredibly appreciative to my professors for encouraging my exploration of jazz and woodwind doubling, and for their willingness to go the extra mile to help prepare me for my professional goals. I wouldn't feel so confident returning to study jazz saxophone if not for that support." Congratulations, Hannah! 🖤💛
