✨ Dragonfly 1 | Unit 4, Week 1: Places & Faces in Our Community! 🏘️🗺️
We kicked off our new unit with lots of curiosity and exploration! In our Curiosity Corner, Dragonfly 1 created maps and talked about the special places and people who make our community a wonderful place to live. We learned about different community helpers who help keep us safe, healthy, and cared for, and explored some of the important tools they use to do their jobs. 🔎👩‍🚒👮‍♂️🩺
So many great questions, conversations, and discoveries this week! We can’t wait to see where our curiosity takes us next! 🌟

This week in Dragonfly 2, we began a new unit called “Places and Faces in Our Communities!” We explored the letter Cc with a fun confetti activity and enjoyed reading a book together. The children worked with partners to match different stores with the items they sell, helping us learn more about the places in our community. We also practiced counting to 13 and creating AABB patterns. It was a fun week full of learning, teamwork, and exploring our community!

This week, we began our Curiosity Corner unit, *“Places and Faces in the Community,”* exploring community helpers and the places they work!

🚒 We learned about fire safety and pretended to be firefighters putting out fires.
🚧 We became construction workers, digging through dirt to search for letters and practice letter recognition.
🏫 We matched community helpers with their workplaces.
🎨 We visited the Art Studio to explore and create!

We also celebrated *Yellow Week* with yellow show-and-tell and enjoyed celebrating a classroom birthday! 💛🎂

In ladybug 1, we tasted fruit and made a chart of our favorite fruit. We explored with nature items and looked at a book about emotions. We played a game called ring around the apples. We used our creativity as we painted with kitchen utensils. We also talked about items that are safe for us to use.

🐝🍯 What a fun week in the Honeybee Room! 🍯🐝

Our Letter of the Week was C! 🔤 We had so much fun learning, exploring, and practicing our letter sounds together.

🎃👻 Spooky Season is coming! We got into the Halloween spirit by making our very own mummies! 🧻👻 While creating our spooky friends, we practiced our fine motor skills by carefully using tape to wrap and decorate our mummies. So much learning hidden inside the fun!

🌧️☔ It may have been a rainy week, but that definitely didn’t stop the fun! When we had indoor recess, we enjoyed playing indoor games, dancing and listening to music, and spending time together. 🎶🧩💃

🏘️👩‍🚒👨‍⚕️ We also continued learning about our community! We talked about different people and their jobs, where they work and live, and how everyone helps make our community special. ❤️

From letters to mummies, music to community helpers, our Honeybees kept busy learning and having fun! 🐝💛

This week, our Grasshoppers wrapped up Week 2 of our unit! 🐛 We went on shape hunts around the classroom, practiced drawing shapes, and created artwork in the art studio. We also worked on tracing our names.

Green Day was a highlight! Everyone enjoyed sharing their green show and tell, and we took our Green class picture. 💚🎨

This week the Cricket 1 classroom have been exploring apples! Where they come from, taste and feel like. Our friends got the chance to go to the apple orchard and pick and wash some apples. We enjoyed taste testing the different colored apples and seeing which the class liked best. The crickets also enjoyed exploring with friends outside.

What a fun week in the Cricket 2 classroom! 🏡💙
This week, we continued learning about families and what makes them special. We talked about what it means to be a big helper and pretended to help wash some babies. We also discussed what we do when visiting relatives and had fun pretending to go on a family picnic. Some of our friends enjoyed working in Construction, where they built family homes together!
We also continued learning about shapes and explored different ways to create them. We practiced drawing circles using different writing tools and used molding foam to create squares. After letting our foam shapes dry, we discovered that putting two squares together can make a rectangle!
To top off our week, we enjoyed the beautiful weather, spending time with our friends and sharing a yummy snack on our back porch. What a wonderful week of learning, playing, and growing together! 🌟
