Gardiner Elementary students will see the impact of the Wichita Public Schools bond as they transition to Hamilton Middle School and West High School. Projects in the 2026 Wichita Public Schools bond are addressing a combination of high‑priority district needs and community supported projects. Passing the bond would help address many aging WPS facilities and move other schools up the line the next time Wichita Public Schools considers a bond. ****Update: Afternoon Pre-K for schools that start at 8 a.m. is canceled for today.

***Update: All after-school programs, activities and athletic practices on WPS property are canceled for today, Wednesday, Sept 16. Athletic events that are hosted out-of-district will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

No school for any 9 a.m. start WPS elementary schools today, Wednesday, Sept. 16, due to the boil water advisory. Students at latchkey at these schools will need to be picked up as soon as possible.

Determinations about Sept. 17 will be made when more information is available.

Schools that are already in session and 9 a.m. secondary start schools will continue as normal.
